Culture

The main goal of the Parque Terras Altas (Highlands Park) is to promote access to culture in its various forms of expression, as well as stimulate knowledge and reflections on art and cultural memory.

 

Through various spaces and projects, we will promote artistic-cultural exchange between different areas, generations, cultures and social classes.

 

Our project is divided into two stages: the first is meant to be accomplished by December 2019 and the second stage will be accomplished in the following two years. The places and projects of the first stage are listed below.

 

 

Cultural Projects

Approved in Federal Law of Incentive to Culture:

  1. Contemporary Paths

  2. Exhibition/Country House Museum

    The creation of the Museu da Roça (Country Museum)  with have the reconstitution of a cob wall house under the perspective of the small rural producer, which will exhibit videos, photos, clothes, furniture, tools and utensils of work and use of families that colonized the region of Bom Jardim and Nova Friburgo. This house will have a small vegetable garden, orchard and animals. There will be gratuitous visitations of forty schools, with buses and feeding included.   3. Country House Video Documentary

    The short documentary focuses on the life of families who populated the mountainous region of the State of Rio, from their perspective with the cob and sticks houses techniques. We will locate the houses that still exists in the region, their state of conservation and we will create the profile of its inhabitants and also have testimonials from historians, artists, architects and specialists in bio-construction. The construction process will be documented.

  4. Clowns Meeting

    Organization of seven meetings with clowns from various regions of Brazil and abroad, providing a reflection on the multiple ways of making and experiencing the art of being a Clown. Led by the Mistress Lilian Moraes, creator and coordinator of ESLIPA - Free School of Clowns. At the end of each meeting, there will be an open presentation to the public.

 

Others projects:

 

 

  1.  Open Atelier

    Artistic creation space that will have artistic residences involving expressive practices of visual arts. The pieces produced will be exposed to visitors.

  2.  Browsing through art

    Multimedia production that will show the history of the plastic arts, through virtual visits to national and international museums, showing the most important works and artists in the world.

  3. Haruyoshi Ono Art Panel

    Work by the plastic and landscape artist Haruyoshi Ono with dimensions of 90 m², to be installed in the upper side of the garden, between the inn and the space of the galleries. The panel will be made of Portuguese stone and will have dimension of 3 m x 30 m.

  4. Planetarium
  5. Multipurpose Space

    Space to be used for visual arts exhibitions, as well as video art projections, films, documentaries and digital exhibitions.
